Girl Hit Crossing Major Roadway Near High School In Central PA: Police

A "female juvenile" was struck while walking along a major roadway in central Pennsylvania on Tuesday, Oct. 4, authorities say.

Lower Paxton Township police were called to a report of a struck pedestrian in the area of Union Deposit Road and Four Seasons Boulevard at approximately 7:13 a.m., according to a release by the department. 

The area has crosswalk signs, illuminated signals, and clearly marked signs as it is across from Central Dauphin High School, according to Google Maps. 

Upon arrival, emergency workers found the girl laying in the road, the police explain in the release. 

"She was being tended to by numerous citizens who stopped to assist," the police say. 

The girl was conscious and responding to questions, and although he injuries were reportedly minor she was taken to an area hospital.

The driver of the striking unit remained on the scene and is cooperating with police.

The crash remains under investigation.
